Sony Sells 1.2 Million PS3 Hardware Units Over Christmas
Published by devilmaycry on January 7, 2008
In a recent press release shared by Sony, the company behind the famous PlayStation brand of consoles, it was revealed that a total of over 1.2 million PlayStation 3 hardware units were purchased over the holiday season. A very impressive figure, if I do say so, myself. Sony was also pleased to disclose the fact that they managed to sell over 1.2 million PlayStation Portal (PSP) handheld consoles.
What’s more, Sony has been able to enjoy even more success with its ageing PlayStation 2 (PS2) console by selling well over 1.3 million consoles over the holiday season. In a comment from Sony, SCEA Jack Tratton said: “The PlayStation brand ended the year in a very strong position and clearly indicates more positive momentum going into 2008. We are particularly pleased to have sold through 1.2 million units of PS3 during the holiday selling season.”
Very impressive, no?
