Devil May Cry Future

What’s in store for the future of Devil May Cry.org? Well, nobody knows. At the moment I’m planning to implement a few key features and site improvements that I’m sure many of you will enjoy. I’ll jot down a quick list and brief description for every item to give you a general idea of what I would like to see happen; many of the features which I have listed should help provide that little bit extra interaction for our faithful visitors.

Devil May Cry Forums

Yes, a forum, message board, bulletin board, whatever you want to call it will definately be implemented at one stage or another. For those of you who are frequent forum chatters you should be familiar with the vBulletin “Instant Community” software. Me and a friend currently own a license and use it for another site which we both run and I’m sure I speak for both of us when I say it’s a fantastic piece of kit and would readily recommend it to anyone. I will also be investing in some professional skins (forum templates) to help spruce up the place as the vBulletin default style isn’t all that special at all…

But we’re straying off the point, long story short: I’ll be purchasing another vBulletin license sometime in the future so you will be able to chat with other fans of the Devil May Cry games series and discuss whatever you please.

A quick word of advice, just so that I have an idea of just how many people are eager to see a Devil May Cry forum implemented, I would appreciate some feedback on this idea via the Contact Us form.

Devil May Cry Mailbag

I’ve seen this idea used on a few other gaming based sites and although it isn’t a particuarly unique idea of mine, I do think it would make for an interesting section.

For those of you who are a little foggy with the whole Devil May Cry “mailbag” system, it would basically be a section where emails that visitors have sent to me regarding the site (or anything Devil May Cry related, of course) will be displayed in their own section and well… you’ll be able to read it. And anyone concerned with privacy towards their emails needn’t worry; a special contact form specifically for this sort of thing will be created giving you the option of having your email displayed in public or not.

Devil May Cry.org Paypal Donation Option

Websites don’t grow on trees you know!

Please understand that I run this site for fun, not to make a profit. If I do decide to set up a donations system it’ll be there for people who wish to voluntarily help support their favourite Devil May Cry site, but I won’t be too heartbroken either way.

In summary: it’s something I’m considering, and while most of you won’t be too thrilled about this addition, at least you will know that should I be declared bankrupt tomorrow the site will still be here thanks to donations made by the loyal visitors to this site.

Devil May Cry.org Style Selector

Over time I intend to implement - you guessed it - a site style chooser. When I was designing the skin for this site, I was torn between going with a dark gothic vibe (Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2 style) or a punkish, grungy style (ala Devil May Cry 3). In the end I opted to design a template based on the original Devil May Cry theme, as you have no doubt guessed.

The next skin will probably revolve around a dark red, green and perhaps yellow type style. To give yourself an idea of the look I’m after just take a gander at your Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening case.
