This isn’t another one of the April Fools jokes! I’m just writing up a quick post to let everyone know that the Devil May Cry Picture Gallery has finally been updated. Now the Devil May Cry Gallery will, too, display the sexy new Devil May Cry 4 template that we’ve had in use throughout the forum and homepage for about a week or two now.

Apologies for the update taking so long! I’m just adding the final touches now but, fortunately, the majority of work has been completed.

Devil May Cry.org Graphical Makeover http://www.devilmaycry.org/devil-may-cry-graphical-makeover/ http://www.devilmaycry.org/devil-may-cry-graphical-makeover/#comments Tue, 18 Mar 2008 22:02:13 +0000 devilmaycry http://www.devilmaycry.org/devil-may-cryorg-graphical-makeover/ Good news, folks! Devil May Cry.org has been on the receiving end of a pretty large graphical overhaul. Hurrah! I don’t doubt that the majority of our readers and forum regulars will have already spotted the difference but it doesn’t hurt to give a heads-up, right? ;) I’m going to provide a brief run-down of some of the more important changes that have been made for those of you whom might be curious:

  • A brand new template has been installed! We’re currently using the very powerful WordPress CMS to power the site’s backend and we’ve installed a brand spanking new WordPress theme to go with the update. For those of you whom might be interested, the WordPress them came from PureWordPress.com - a website dedicated to providing quality WordPress themes. I also happen to be the CEO so, obviously, I might be a tad biassed… Hehe.
  • The Devil May Cry Forum, too, has received something of an update is also using the same theme we have in use, here, on the homepage.
  • A new navigation system for the Devil May Cry Forum. Before, we had a ton of buttons which occupied two columns of space. In navigation terms: This is far too much and can often alienate and confuse a lot of users who typically just want to browse the forum without a ton of links to bog them down. I’m a firm believe of the whole “Less if more” mentality and I’ll thrown out a heck of a lot of redundant options and made the process of navigating around the Devil May Cry Forum a whole lot easier, in my opinion.
  • I’m also in the process of brainstorming a few more perks and benefits for Premium Supporters that should hopefully help show my appreciation towards those of you whom were so kind as to help put that little extra cash towards dedicated server costs and help Devil May Cry.org stay alive. I’m really looking forward to unveiling some of the ideas I have lined up - provided everything goes to play, that is. They’re certainly not earth-shattering extras but, hopefully, you guys will like ‘em.

Well, that’s all! I’ll be getting started on fixing up the Devil May Cry Gallery tomorrow and, perhaps, adding some bonus features for you guys to enjoy. I’m also considering removing some of the older, less popular categories and replacing them with varios Devil May Cry 4 albums. I’m not sure yet. We’ll just have to see what happens.

Slight Graphical Update for the Devil May Cry Forum http://www.devilmaycry.org/slight-graphical-update-for-the-devil-may-cry-forum/ http://www.devilmaycry.org/slight-graphical-update-for-the-devil-may-cry-forum/#comments Sun, 16 Mar 2008 21:23:41 +0000 devilmaycry http://www.devilmaycry.org/slight-graphical-update-for-the-devil-may-cry-forum/ Now, I’m sure the majority of you will have already noticed, but for those of you who haven’t: The Devil May Cry Forum has been on the receiving end of a small graphical makeover. It certainly isn’t anything too extreme, but I’m sure you guys will appreciate what little changes have been made. Before I get started and explain just what it is that has been altered, I’d like to offer a special thank you to Devil May Cry Forum regular and all-round nice chap, Keaton, for kindly going to the trouble of designing some very fancy new forum-status icons which just ooze awesomeness.

For those of you whom are too lazy to navigate your way to the Devil May Cry Forum, I thought I’d go ahead and include Keaton’s creations in this latest news post:

Just to clarify, though: Keaton’s icons were much, much better and included transparent backgrounds. I, however, had to convert them to .gif format in order for them to work properly with the forum.

So, credit where credit is due, thank you once again Keaton for generously designing and contributing these icons for the Devil May Cry Forum!

Devil May Cry 4 Cheats http://www.devilmaycry.org/devil-may-cry-4-cheats/ http://www.devilmaycry.org/devil-may-cry-4-cheats/#comments Tue, 05 Feb 2008 13:51:34 +0000 devilmaycry http://www.devilmaycry.org/devil-may-cry-4-cheats/ A bunch of unlockable Devil May Cry 4 cheats have finally been revealed and, because I’m so nice, I figured where better to post them then on my very own Devil May Cry 4 website. Fortunately, I can confirm that the Bloody Palace Survival Mode - that was made popular in Devil May Cry 2 and Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition - has also made it into the full release of Devil May Cry 4, as many Devil May Cry fans have suspected.

Please be sure to click the ‘read more’ link to check out the full list of available Devil May Cry 4 cheats, unlockables and hints that were disclosed courtesy of IGN.

Unlockable: History of Devil May Cry
Complete the game on Devil hunter difficulty (may also unlock by beating on Human difficulty).

Unlockable: Son of Sparda Difficulty
Complete the game on Devil hunter difficulty.

Unlockable: Bonus Art & Character Art
Complete the game on Devil hunter difficulty (may also unlock by beating on Human difficulty).

Unlockable: Gallery
Complete the game on Devil hunter difficulty (may also unlock by beating on Human difficulty).

Unlockable: Bloody Palace Survival Mode
Complete the game on Devil hunter difficulty (may also unlock by beating on Human difficulty).

Hint: Free Health from Faults
Late in the game, you’ll occasionally see fault enemies appear from underneath you–they sort of warp up from the ground and try to ensnare your character. If you manage to kill a fault, you will always be rewarded with a free health orb. If you’re low on health, look for faults to kill and get their health.

Hint: Quasi-Secret Launch Jump
Either Nero or Dante can perform a launch jump off of ledges that sends them flying far forward, much further forward than a normal jump. This launch jump can be used to collect secrets and sometimes shortcut secret missions. To perform it, stand facing a nearby ledge that you can jump off of. Perform the Streak or Stinger attack (while locked up, press UP + Attack) and Nero or Dante will dash forward–the ledge cuts off the attack animation and instead launches the character far forward.
