Sparda’s Profile
Sparda, is the Legendary Dark Knight who chose to fight for good. The husband to a human named Eva and father of both Dante and Vergil, his only known offspring. His legendary tales are still spoken of to this day and his power is rumoured to be unrivalled.
Sparda doesn’t actually make an actual appearance at all throughout the main story mode of Devil May Cry 3 (minus the bonus art which can be unlocked), he is only referenced, but he plays a central role throughout the story. Although you are able to unlock him and play as him, his moves list and voice work remains exactly the same as Dante’s default set.

Sparda rocks! Shame you couldn’t get a chance to play as Sparda in Devil May Cry 3 or DMC3: Special Edition though
Hey man what are you talking about “YOU CAN’T PLAY AS SPARDA” I hope you figured it out already. Just a lil’ help from me, thats why my forum member name is SpArDaCan =/). If you just finished normal or easy mode the game isn’t done. You have to beat hard mode to play as Sparda its not that bad playing hard mode if you already know what you are doing also if you the sam thing applies to the 1st Devil May Cry game defeat hard and legendary dark knight mode.
You CAN play as both Sparda, In both versions, rather than being a whole separate character, Sparda is a costume for Dante
Sparda can’t use any longer, but……. it’s powerful man!!

Once i completed the game i used sum cheats to unlock every think but there is no costume of Sparda for Dante
Its the second final costume and the final one. They are both from what I see at their devil trigger, Sparda. The Final Costume looks damn cool and has unlimited DT. Happy Getting Sparda.
You can play as Sparda as Dante K13 said, Sparda does have a human looking form … the one with the purple Jacket and force edge IS Sparda, as Force edge is his sword and also if when you use him (costume) Rebellion is replaced by Force Edge

duuude to play as sparda on dmc3 all you have to do is use the dmc1 costume for the game then go devil trigger
