    Set after DMC2, what would you do?

    I would somehow make Dante's cameo in SMT canon. Since we need info on Nero, I would explain his backstory.

    Could it be set before DMC2 as well?

    Either way, I would focus it more on Dante and give him his cred back because under kobayashi, he became boring.

    If i could create it... the fifth Devil May Cry will take place right after what happened in DMC2. Then a game for Vergil and after that one with Nero of course Dante will be playable each.

    If I could create the next DMC, I'd do a spin off.
    Mother of Prequels...lets take it back to Sparda's time. Live the Myth. Give more spine to the story, possibly create an image for Eva.
