Here you can discuss all there is to discuss about animé, such as:

    What is your favourite animé?
How many types of animé is there?
What animé would you recommend to others?

Stuff like that. I was inspired to make this thread when deamonslayer asked about what shonen animé are good. Maybe someone here could recommend him some?

Personally, I like the one called Soul Eater. Try look it up, slayer. ;)

I've only ever really liked the stuff that Studio Ghibli produce - Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle and Grave of the Fireflies are among some of my favourites.

As far as anime in general goes I don't get into it very much. I'm really picky about what I like and 95% of anime just doesn't hold my attention.

Here's all the anime that I've personally seen and liked. Call it a recommendation or something, I dunno.
One Piece (still watching), FLCL, Fullmetal Brotherhood, Berserk, Black Lagoon, Paprika, Naruto, Akira, Gurren Lagann, Cowboy Bebop, DBZ, and Death Note.

Some anime that didn't make the list:
Soul Eater, Angel Beats, Eden of the East, Trigun, Samurai Champloo, Elven Lied, DBGT, High School of the Dead, Gantz, and Bleach.

They call him the master of the art for a reason. ;)
You should consider watching THIS one. So surreal.

I..er...kinda watch anime/read manga every chance I get. I'm one of those victims that when we were kids and were watching cartoons we noticed that some of them had something different about them, so first chance we got, a few years later, we looked them up in the internet to learn more. Besides the TV, I watched my first anime thanks to the Internet, then read its manga etc etc.

I'm active only on this forum, but other than that, the only other site I frequent these days is a greek anime forum which isn't the best, but it's perfect for keeping up with any news about anime.

After all, being an anime fan goes perfect with the geek persona that I tried incredibly hard (not) to create:cool:

I won't go to any extremes such as buying everything from something etc, but if I have money (which is quite rareXD) I'll buy some merchandise too - though I have only one figurine.

My favorite anime would be Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion for billions of reasons, but mostly because I could relate a LOT, with the main character, to the point to having seen the preview of one episode with him doing something "out of character" in my opinion, and then seeing it actually re-directed when the episode came out.

I wouldn't recommend anything, because funny as it is, anime are like movies, series, and cartoon at the same time. With millions of genres about them. So, according to your taste you wouldn't like that but you'd prefer this and so on.

And I think I'll stop now.

Favourite anime: Gintama (how can you NOT know of this?!), Devil May Cry and Bleach.
With that said I'm more of a Cartoon Network kinda gal ;)

Bleach, Dragon Ball Z, Full Metal Alchemist, and FLCL.

And while I couldn't get into it personally due to it's preoccupation with death, Witch Blades might also be a good one.

    Monster.
Monster was recommended to me quite a while back and it was quite possibly the best anime I've watched. As far as I'm concerned, this coming from someone who loved Death Note, it absolutely blew it out of the water.

You can usually tell if the animé is within your interest through the first episode. So watch through the first episodes of those you might find interesting to see if they are really someone you'd like to see.

Death Note is very good, but in terms of the whole crime/mystery/psychological style of things, Monster really is just in a league of its own, Light has absolutely nothing on Johan Liebert. Seriously, if you liked the dynamic of Light and L and how Light's psychotic side played out, you'd love Monster.
